Dennis O'Connell joined Silver Carrot, Inc. as the CEO in February 2013. His extensive background consists of more than 30 years of successful operating experience in all segments of the communications industry.
Prior to joining Silver Carrot, Dennis was a Venture Partner at Dolphin Equity Partners. He served on the Board of Directors of four of Dolphin's investments: AVST, Touch Commerce, Overtone Terago and Sixth Sense Media.
Before that, Dennis served as the North Region President of XO Communications, a leading integrated communications provider, where he led market operations in the Northeast and Midwest. He successfully built it into a $200 million business. He was also the Northeast Region President for AT&T Wireless. He successfully led the AT&T Wireless operations in New York and Pittsburgh, and oversaw the successful launch of the Washington/Baltimore, Philadelphia and Boston markets, which had annual revenues in excess of $1 billion and over 1.5 million customers.
Dennis was a member of the original McCaw Cellular Communications management team. He was with McCaw Cellular for 10 years, from the initial launch of McCaw's first market in 1985 through its sale to AT&T in 1995. While at McCaw, Dennis had a variety of increasing senior operating responsibilities across the U.S.
Dennis holds a BS in Marketing from the University of Maryland.
Trish Donoghue oversees SilverCarrot Inc.'s financial
operations. Prior to joining SilverCarrot in 2006, Trish
worked as a senior auditor at Ernst & Young, LLP, one
of the Big Four global accounting firms. Trish worked in
the New York, Connecticut, and Tennessee offices during
her 6 year tenure with Ernst & Young, supervising audits
on an array of companies from major not-for-profit health
care systems to manufacturing companies to corporate barter
companies.
Trish earned a bachelor's degree in business administration
and accounting from the University of Connecticut in 2001
and acquired her CPA certification in 2006.
William Grant joins Silver Carrot with over 18 years of leadership experience. A member of the Illinois Bar since 1996, William has led several ecommerce, supply chain, educational, financial, marketing and sales technological teams, including numerous international teams located in India, China, Israel, Germany and England.
William has worked for Fortune 50 companies including Sears Holding Corporation and General Electric, as well as educational institutions such as DeVry University and TCS Education Systems. He has strong experience in a wide range of different technologies including large mainframe applications, ERP applications such as Microsoft and Oracle Applications and open source technologies.
In addition to earning his Juris Doctor from Thomas Cooley Law School, William also attained an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
Susan joined SilverCarrot in June 2012 after years in sales leadership positions in interactive marketing media. Prior to joining SilverCarrot, she managed hospital and health system business on the East coast for a cross platform marketing solution at UBM Medica. That followed years as vice president and publisher of Incisive Media's ClickZ, SearchEngineWatch and SES Events. Here she developed and implemented strategies to build sales revenue, provided leadership for the SES event sales team and provided day-to-day leadership for a team of international sales professionals.
Previous to her tenure at Incisive, Susan served as the Associate Publisher, Online Media at The Deal and Senior Sales Director at DoubleClick Media. She also held the senior posts of Vice President and Network Publisher at JupiterMedia, Publisher, Information Services at Cowles Business Media and Vice President/Publisher for Sweet's Group, a unit of the Construction Publishing Division of McGraw Hill, Inc. She was elected for the McGraw Hill Corporate Achievement Award based on her work in developing and launching international product which achieved extraordinary success.
Susan received her BA and Masters of Science at Herbert H. Lehman College, Bronx New York.
Hillary oversees the content production, marketing and ad operations for the women's lifestyle content network of Silver Carrot. The network consists of Recipe4Living, Silver Carrot's flagship online cooking community, Fit and Fab Living - a health and beauty site to help women look and feel their best, and Work It, Mom! - a vibrant community full of working moms sharing tips and advice. Prior to directing the content division, Hillary worked as a Web Editor for these content sites - getting to know the Web sites and newsletters from the ground up.
Hillary has a background in feature writing and journalism. She earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in News-Editorial Journalism from the University of Illinois, Urbana - Champaign. At the University of Illinois, she served as a copy editor for the school paper The Daily Illini and a staff writer for the Illini Horizon.
